Michael Jeffrey Jordan (New York, February 17, 1963) is a former basketball player in the U.S.. Considered by most experts as the best basketball player of all time [1] [2] [3] and by many as one of the most important male athletes in history.
His fans see in Jordan a unique combination of grace, speed, race, power, artistry, skill and a strong desire for competition. There is no doubt that Jordan has redefined the concept of "superstar" of the NBA.
Jordan attended the University of North Carolina and became the player the Chicago Bulls and NBA star in 1984. He was known for his amazing ability to score, its shares outstanding in the Slam Dunk competitions. These buried, jumping the free throw line, earned him the nicknames of Air Jordan and His Airness. After all, Jordan was one of the best markers that basketball has ever seen. Won his first NBA title in 1991 and then 92 and 93. Before the season 93-94 start, Jordan retired from basketball to play baseball, but quickly returned to court in 1995 and led the Chicago Bulls the most consecutive 3: 1996, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 announced a retirement, but returned in 2001, this time for the Washington Wizards, where he played until 2003.
He was voted MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the season five times, MVP of the finals six times, 10 times for the first NBA team, 9 times for the first defensive team in the NBA. Participated in 14 games and was MVP of the stars in their third opportunity. He was leading scorer in the league 10 seasons, greatest thief ball three times and elected defender of the year in 1988. His top score in a single game was 69 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 28, 1990. One of his records and one of the most striking evidence of their superiority in basketball, it's your grade point average throughout his career: 30.1 points in fifteen seasons.
Today, Michael Jordan is part owner of the Charlotte Bobcats and staff member of the team's operations.

At school, Jordan began to develop his interest in sports, played football, baseball and of course basketball. It's funny to note that Jordan was dismissed from the team representing their school, for being down (at the time had 1m80), but his brother, who was taller, was on the team.
Jordan has been married for 17 years with Juanita Vanoy, with whom he had three children: Jeffrey Michael Jordan, born November 18, 1988, Marcus James Jordan, born December 24, 1990 Michael Jordan and Jasmine, born December 7, 1992.
